TCA Leadership

The Texas Counseling Association is driven by our members. Our Board of Directors is comprised of TCA members who play an active role in the governance and decision-making of our organization. The complete Board of Directors includes executive officers, Treasurer, Parliamentarian, 12 Directors who represent each of our 12 divisions, and 5 Region Directors who represent our 25+ chapters.  The Board meets in November, February, and June.  Below is the TCA Executive Committee for our current fiscal year. The TCA Executive Committee includes the President, President-Elect, Past President, and Secretary.

VP of Operations & Member Services

Chyenne coordinates TCA membership support by updating records, promoting TCA benefits, and assists with membership inquiries and questions, She handles database troubleshooting, processes, and improvements. She also collaborates with marketing on various membership outreach.

Bobbie Lawrence

Leadership Resources & Special Projects Manager

Bobbie provides support and coordinates efforts of TCA's board, senate, and multiple committees. Manages the operations of TCA's elections. Facilitates Educational Endowment Fund and BIPOC grants with respective committees.

Noah Jones

Public Policy Analyst

Noah conducts policy analysis on state issues surrounding mental health and provides recommendations to TCA leadership. They work closely on advocacy efforts in the Texas legislature to promote the TCA’s public policy agenda.

Jan Friese

Interim Chief Executive Officer

Jan directs TCA operations and ensures administrative, programmatic, and public policy initiatives align with TCA‘s Strategic Plan. Jan oversees advocacy and leadership development programs to support and engage the TCA Board, Senate, volunteers, and stakeholders.

Daniela Ornelas

Membership & Marketing Coordinator

Daniela provides administrative support for TCA staff and members. She assists with member phone calls and emails, processes membership applications and conference registrations (including invoicing), processes publication orders, and other administrative duties.  Daniela also coordinates with marketing on TCA's social media and webpage updates.

Nicole Lucero Coleman

Membership & Marketing Director

Nicole oversees all communications and marketing efforts at TCA, ensuring consistent and engaging messaging across all platforms. She collaborates closely with staff and members to develop tailored content and campaigns that support TCA's initiatives. In addition, Nicole plays a key role in membership retention and outreach, helping to grow and strengthen the TCA community.

Natalie Weber

Education & Events Director 

Natalie plans and coordinates meetings, conferences, and events for TCA and its 12 divisions. She also oversees the educational programming for the association.
